Annette Bellamy "Floating"

Annette Bellamy is a ceramic artist participating in the Communities, Disaster & Change exhibition that is about to leave the Valdez Museum. This accomplished Alaskan artist, had a private show titles "Floating" in 2013. The show title refers to emotional stages we might experience in life. At times we feel as if we are just floating along, sinking, or holding steady. Below is the video of Ms. Bellamy's speech at the opening reception of her exhibit.

Bellamy's work is influenced by her many years of commercial fishing on the ocean. Her work inspires us to think about our own emotional experiences. When was the last time you felt like you were sinking or floating?
